reportedly ready to bid €70m after learning Chelsea target, Dusan Vlahovic would prefer Old Trafford in a move that has enraged Pochettino

Erik ten Hag has set his sights on Dusan Vlahovic as he looks to bolster his striking options ahead of the new season.

With Wout Weghorst and Anthony Martial expected to depart, Ten Hag has identified the Serbian forward as a key target.

The Red Devils boss is eagerly awaiting the outcome of a potential takeover bid, which will determine his available transfer budget.

While big-money moves for Harry Kane and Victor Osimhen appear unlikely due to complications with their respective clubs, Ten Hag is exploring alternative options.

According to reports from Football Transfers, a deal for Vlahovic is starting to take shape. Manchester United seems to have the upper hand in the race for the striker, as the player is said to be only willing to join a team that can offer Champions League football.

With United in a strong position to secure a top-four finish, they hold a significant advantage over Chelsea.

Furthermore, Juventus, Vlahovic’s current club, is reportedly open to selling the striker this season following a relatively underwhelming campaign. With a tally of 14 goals in 41 appearances, he has not lived up to expectations.

Financial constraints at Juventus could work in Manchester United’s favor, as the Italian giants are unlikely to obstruct a potential €70m (£60.1m) bid.

Ten Hag, known for his preference for a strong and tall striker, sees Vlahovic as an ideal fit for the Premier League. The Dutch manager had success with a similar system at Ajax, with Sebastien Haller playing a crucial role.

Vlahovic, standing at 6ft 3in, has been with Juventus for 18 months since his arrival in a deal that could reach €80m with bonuses. During his time at the club, he has netted 23 goals in 62 games, boasting a scoring rate of one goal every 2.7 matches.
